London-based Greek/French Royal College of Art graduate, pearly Queen Melanie Georgacopoulos uses pearls like no other jewellery designer. She has chopped, pierced, faceted and ‘re-composed’ the pearls in her designs in a way that fully appreciates and respects the natural material, without losing any of the natural lustre or quality of the pearl itself. This results in experimental but highly wearable pieces, with exquisite craftsmanship and a natural playfulness, seen right through from the smaller, every day pieces, to the grand ‘Couture’ level necklaces.
